All maintenance workshops are tailored to your requirements at a time and date convenient to you.
We no longer publish specific course dates but invite you to get in touch and let us know how we can accomodate your needs.
The workshop can normally be made available for maintenance courses at any time of the year but please give at least 14 days notice when applying.
Courses are usually delivered as the modules listed to the right.

ADVICE AND EVENT PREPARATION

If you are an individual or a group who is preparing for a big ride, event or adventure, Ride and Repair can help.
With over thirty years of cycling experience to draw on, we are well placed to offer expert advice and knowledge to aid in your preparations.
We can help with choosing the right equipment, nutrition, training and mental preparation.
Our friendly and supportive service specialises in helping those who are new to cycling, mountain biking and touring or for those who haven't been out on their bikes for a while.
We can also help experienced cyclists who wish to progress further towards their goals.
Ride and Repair will give you a real boost in knowledge, skills and confidence, so you can be happy riding your bike.
Basic Maintenance Courses:BASIC PART ONE: Bike set up, safety and roadside repairs 90min duration. Designed to teach cyclists how to recognise issues, carry out the essential repairs and set up their bikes. BASIC PART TWO: Basic brake and gear adjustments 90min duration. Designed to teach cyclists how to correctly adjust brakes and gears. The basic courses are very hands on. All equipment is provided, the instructor will provide a cleaned bike with various mechanical problems and demonstrate how to fix each one. – there is no need to bring a bike or any tools. Each basic course can be delivered to groups of up to 2-4 people

Intermediate Maintenance Courses:INTERMEDIATE PART ONE: Drivetrain - Chain, cassette and chainrings Up to 2 hrs duration. Aimed at cyclists who would like to know more about maintaining their bikes and keep them running smoothly. Perfect for cyclists who already have basic bike maintenance knowledge and want to improve their skills further. Your instructor will provide a cleaned bike with various mechanical problems and demonstrate how to fix each one. INTERMEDIATE PART TWO: Drivetrain - Cables, mechs and pedals Up to 2 hrs duration. Aimed at cyclists who would like to know more about maintaining their bikes and keep them running smoothly. Perfect for cyclists who already have basic bike maintenance knowledge and want to improve their skills further. Your instructor will provide a cleaned bike with various mechanical problems and demonstrate how to fix each one. All equipment is provided – there is no need to bring a bike or any tools. If a group member’s bike would benefit from any of the above then the bike can be brought along and they would pay for any parts used. Note: this is by prior arrangement only. Each intermediate course can be delivered to groups of 2 - 4 people.

Advanced Maintenance Courses:ADVANCED PART ONE: Brakes Up to 2 hrs duration. Aimed at cyclists who would like to know more about maintaining their bikes and keep them running smoothly. Perfect for cyclists who already have basic and intermediate bike maintenance knowledge and want to improve their skills further. Your instructor will provide a cleaned bike with various mechanical problems and demonstrate how to fix each one. ADVANCED PART TWO: Headset, bottom bracket and wheel trueing Up to 2 hrs duration. Aimed at cyclists who would like to know more about maintaining their bikes and keep them running smoothly. Perfect for cyclists who already have basic and intermediate bike maintenance knowledge and want to improve their skills further. Your instructor will provide a cleaned bike with various mechanical problems and demonstrate how to fix each one. All equipment is provided – there is no need to bring a bike or any tools. Please contact us if you would prefer to bring your own bike to work on. NOTE: The instuctor reserves the right to refuse to work on any bike if it is deemed unsuitable for the purposes of the course. Each advanced course can be delivered to groups of 2 - 4 people.

Full Day Courses:BESPOKE BIKE MAINTENANCE COURSE: Up to 8 hrs duration. A full day to concemntrate on any or all of the elements from the Basic, Intermediate and Advanced courses. This option is recommended for reasonably experienced cyclists who want to learn how to look after their bike properly. Bring your own bike to work on and/or a selection of bikes from the workshop. All tools are provided. Any additional parts can be provided at additional cost. Note: this is by prior arrangement only. This course can be delivered to individuals or groups of no more than 3 people. Please contact us to discuss.
BIKE BUILD COURSE: Up to 8 hrs duration. Aimed at cyclists who want to go through the whole process of building up a bike. Covers all the main elements of the Intermediate and Advanced courses. Recommended for reasonably experienced cyclists and is particularly suitable if you have a bike of your own you want to build up and learn along the way. All tools are provided. Any additional parts can be provided at additional cost. Note: this is by prior arrangement only. This course can be delivered to individuals or groups of no more than 2 people.
